Nils Kohlmeier is a doctoral researcher at the University of Bremen's Department of Law, associated with the ERC-funded project 'Transnational Force of Law' under Prof. Andreas Fischer-Lescano. His work focuses on legal contradictions in EU policies, particularly regarding critical raw materials and free trade agreements. He holds degrees from the University of Bremen (First and Second German State Examinations in Law) and has completed legal clerkships at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court of Bremen and related administrative courts.
His research explores intersections of international, European, and transnational law with critical legal theory, emphasizing socio-ecological sustainability transformations. He co-leads the DFG Research Training Group 2686 'Contradiction Studies', analyzing legal frameworks' dual roles in enabling and hindering societal change.
