Nikolay Izov

Prof. Nikolay Izov, Ph.D., is a distinguished academic leader at the National Sports Academy "Vassil Levski" with a 40-year career in aquatic sports education and research. Currently serving as Assistant Rector since 2024, he previously held roles as Rector (2019-2024), Vice-Rector (2012-2019), and Dean (2008-2012) of the Faculty of Public Health, Health Care and Tourism.

• Member of Academic Council (since 2008) and Managing Body of Council of Rectors (since 2021)

His research focuses on physical education and sports science, particularly in water sports training, health promotion, and sports management. He has authored over 80 publications including a monograph, textbooks, and educational materials.

Prof. Izov has led major academic initiatives including the III International Scientific Congress "Applied Sports Sciences" (2022) and chaired the scientific board of the Journal of Applied Sports Sciences since 2017.
