Niki Nearchou

Assoc Professor Niki Nearchou holds an Associate Professorship at University College Dublin's School of Psychology, leading the Psychological Health, Well-being, and Resilience research theme. She directs the UCD Resilience and Health Laboratory and oversees the UCD Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology. With a PhD from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, her work focuses on resilience mechanisms in youth exposed to adversity, integrating advanced analytical methods. She has secured grants from Horizon Europe, Irish Research Council, and others.

Research interests include resilience against stigma in chronic conditions, mental health comorbidities, and trauma's metabolic consequences. Awards include an Ad Astra Fellowship and Outstanding Special Issue Award. She teaches resilience, statistics, and clinical psychology while supervising doctoral students in resilience-related topics.
