Nikhil Kurian

Dr. Nikhil Kurian is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML), affiliated with the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology at the University of Adelaide. Prior to this, he worked as a Senior AI Researcher at Fujitsu Research of India Pvt Ltd (FRIPL). He earned his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, in May 2023.

His research focuses on developing safe, fair, and trustworthy AI for medical image analysis, particularly in automating cancerous tissue detection in biopsy and radiology images using deep learning algorithms. This work bridges Machine Learning, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering.
