Nigel Balmer

Nigel Balmer is a Visiting Professor of Law at University College London (UK) and Research Director at the Victoria Law Foundation (Australia). He also serves as an Honorary Professor at UCL's Faculty of Laws and an independent researcher/consultant. His career includes roles as Professor at the University of London, Chair of Law and Social Statistics at UCL, and Head of Data, Design, and Analysis at PPL.

His research focuses on empirical access to justice, legal capability measurement, and innovative methodological approaches in legal studies. Notable contributions include pioneering multilevel modelling and discrete time event history analysis in legal research. He has published over 130 academic works across law, social policy, epidemiology, and health journals.
