Nicolette Pavlides

Nicolette Pavlides is a Lecturer in Ancient History at King's College London, specializing in Greek religion, Spartan history, and hero cults. Her research examines local religious traditions in Sparta, particularly hero worship, and its role in cultural memory and identity formation.

Dr. Pavlides investigates Spartan-perioikic relations through sanctuary distribution and ritual practices in Laconia and Messenia. Her work on hero cults explores the cognitive processes underlying mortal worship and uses anthropological approaches to interpret Spartan practices.
