Nicole R. Guajardo

Nicole R. Guajardo is a Professor and Dean of the College of Natural and Behavioral Sciences at Christopher Newport University (CNU). She holds a PhD in Life Span Developmental Psychology from West Virginia University and earned her BA and MA in Psychology from Wake Forest University. At CNU, she teaches Child Development, Cognitive Development, and Adult Development and Aging courses.

Her research focuses on social cognitive development, including theory of mind, counterfactual reasoning, and the relationship between social cognition and executive function. She also investigates how parent-child interactions influence early social cognitive development.

Dr. Guajardo has held multiple administrative roles at CNU, including Department Chair (2009-2010), Executive Assistant to the President for Student Success (2010-2013), and Dean of the College of Natural and Behavioral Sciences since 2013.
