Dr. Nicole Minckas is a Research Fellow at the Nossal Institute for Global Health within the University of Melbourne. She specializes in maternal and neonatal health research using mixed-methods approaches in low-resource settings.
Her research addresses healthcare disparities by improving maternal/neonatal outcomes through understanding care experiences and developing effective interventions. Prior experience includes implementing WHO multi-country clinical trials evaluating antenatal corticosteroids for preterm births and immediate Kangaroo Mother Care for newborn survival in Africa and Asia.
Current projects include the PEARLS trial implementing pre-eclampsia screening/testing in Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa, and research on respectful maternity care through the Global Women's Health Unit portfolio.
