Nicole M. Deming

Nicole M. Deming serves as Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs and Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioethics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where she has contributed to faculty administration since joining the Office for Faculty Affairs and Human Resources in 2014.

Her academic foundation includes:

• BA in Biology and Philosophy, with honors, from St. Mary’s College of Maryland
• MA in Bioethics from the University of Washington School of Medicine (2005)
• JD, with honors, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law (2008) with concentrations in International Law and Health Law

Her research integrates legal and ethical frameworks through core interests in Bioethics, Health Law, Medical Ethics, Research Ethics, and International Bioethics, demonstrating interdisciplinary expertise developed across biological sciences, philosophical inquiry, and legal scholarship. This unique synthesis positions her work at the intersection of clinical practice, regulatory compliance, and cross-cultural ethical standards within healthcare systems.

As Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs, she leads administrative initiatives supporting faculty development, appointment processes, and professional growth across the medical school while maintaining her academic appointment in bioethics.
