Nicole Lytle

Nicole Lytle, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Social Work and Child Advocacy at Montclair State University's College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds a PhD in experimental psychology from the University of Toledo. Her research focuses on child development's role in policy and practice for child maltreatment investigations, with recent expansions into adult sexual assault witness interviewing techniques. Dr. Lytle's work is supported by a National Science Foundation grant to develop guidelines for interviewing adult witnesses in child maltreatment cases.

She leads The Talking Lab, studying how children communicate about memories. Key projects include collaboration with National Children's Alliance on tele-forensic interview guidelines during emergencies and development of New Jersey's Online Mandated Reporter Training program. Dr. Lytle frequently consults with law enforcement and child protection agencies to translate research into public policy, emphasizing reliable eyewitness testimony evaluation.
