About
Dr. Nicole J Rijs is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Chemistry, University of New South Wales, where she has been based since 2018. Her research focuses on applying mass spectrometry and ion mobility to investigate chemical structure, reaction mechanisms, and molecular self-assembly.
- BSc with Honours, University of Melbourne (2003-2006)
- PhD, University of Melbourne (2008-2012)
- Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow, TU Berlin (2012-2015)
- Research Group Leader, KIT Karlsruhe (2015-2017)
Her work bridges organometallic chemistry, catalysis, and analytical techniques. Recent publications highlight advancements in metal-ligand interactions, pesticide molecular analysis, and CO2 activation mechanisms. She has received prestigious awards including the Scientia Fellowship (2018) and Australian Research Council DECRA Fellowship (2016). Her research group employs ion mobility-mass spectrometry for high-throughput structural analysis of complex chemical systems.
