Nicola Middlebrook

Dr. Nicola Middlebrook is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Manchester Metropolitan University. She is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), and a Fellow of Advance HE. Her research examines patient experiences in musculoskeletal trauma recovery and therapeutic processes.

Her research focuses on musculoskeletal trauma, pain trajectory, recovery mechanisms, and patient-centered care perspectives. She employs qualitative methodologies to understand lived experiences of injury rehabilitation.

Publication analysis reveals consistent themes in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, patient-clinician communication in trauma recovery, and cultural competence in physiotherapy practice. Her work bridges clinical practice with health psychology frameworks.
