Nicola Koper is a Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Environment at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC). With a PhD in Conservation Biology from the University of Alberta and graduate training in Zoology at the University of Guelph, she leads research focused on biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management. Her work spans avian conservation, habitat fragmentation, prairie ecosystems, and fire ecology, often collaborating with Indigenous communities, governments, and industry partners to address environmental challenges.
