Nico Kuijpers

Nico Kuijpers serves as a Lecturer-researcher in AI and Big Data at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, where he has taught artificial intelligence and software engineering courses since 2012. Previously, he held research and academic positions at TNO-Defense, Eindhoven University of Technology, and Maastricht University.

His educational background includes:

• Computing Science degree from Eindhoven University of Technology with specialization in Parallel Computing
• PhD awarded in 2008 for research on mechano-electrical coupling in the heart using simulation models

His research spans virtual reality, collaborative virtual environments, neuronal network simulation, and cardiac simulation, with recent focus on open-source solar system simulation development since 2017.
