Nicky Marsh is a Professor of Contemporary Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Southampton, where she serves as Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Director of the Southampton Institute for Arts and Humanities. Her research explores intersections between culture and economics, with a focus on cultural representations of finance, gender, and economic systems.
Research interests include:
- Fiction and finance relationships in postmodern literature
- Public representations of financial systems through art and exhibitions
- Place-based cultural economies for social regeneration
Publications primarily investigate cultural economies, community identity, and governance, employing qualitative methods across interdisciplinary social sciences. Recent works analyze affective governance, place-based identity, and community engagement metrics.
