About
Dr Nick Wyche is a researcher at the Faculty of Science, University of New South Wales, focusing on the interplay between attentional bias and decision-making. His work explores how learned biases toward reward-signaling stimuli influence evidence accumulation during complex choices, using eye tracking and computational modeling to study these cognitive processes. He also applies this research to real-world challenges like age-related decision-making and driver safety.
Dr Wyche has secured two ACT Road Safety Fund Grants for projects examining crash risk predictors in older adults and cognitive processes behind field-of-view task performance. He teaches Perception and Cognition in the Graduate Diploma in Psychology program.
His research methodology combines
- Lab-based experiments
- Online behavioral studies
- Eye movement analysis
- Computational modeling
