Nick Taylor

Nick Taylor is Professor of English and Comparative Literature at San José State University, where he directs the MFA Program in Creative Writing and serves as Western Council Chair (2025–2029). He previously directed the Martha Heasley Cox Center for Steinbeck Studies from 2012 to 2021.

His research and creative practice centers on Creative Writing, Literary Studies, American Literature, and Fiction, demonstrated through his novels The Disagreement and Father Junípero's Confessor, alongside thriller series written under the pseudonym T. T. Monday featuring detective Johnny Adcock.

As MFA Program director, Taylor advises graduate creative writing students. His leadership at the Steinbeck Center included expanding the Steinbeck Fellows Program and organizing international conferences on John Steinbeck in 2013, 2016, and 2019.
