Nick Erickson

Nick Erickson serves as Associate Professor of Movement and Head of the M.F.A. Acting program at the School of Theatre, Louisiana State University (LSU).

Education:

• M.F.A. in Acting from Cal-Arts

Research Interests: His work spans Theatre, Acting, Movement, Fight Choreography, and Dance Theatre. With extensive professional performance experience, he integrates practical artistry into academic training through embodied pedagogy and physical storytelling techniques.

Professional Leadership:

• Resident Fight Choreographer for all Swine Palace and LSU Theatre productions since appointment
• Producer/Director of LSU's biennial Academic Program Abroad to Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 2008

Performance History:

• Stage appearances at Swine Palace, Intiman Theatre, Empty Space Theatre, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, and Edinburgh Fringe Festival
• Film roles in 'College', 'A Perfect Day', 'The Staircase Murders', and 'Mahjong'
• Television guest appearance on Fox's 'K-Ville'
• Founding member of Diavolo Dance Theatre (7-year tenure as co-choreographer/performer on three national tours and international engagements)
