Nick De Pace is a Senior Critic in Landscape Architecture at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where he has taught since 1999 across Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Interior Architecture departments. He holds a BARC and BFA from RISD.
Research Focus
De Pace's work centers on ancient Roman engineering, territorial water systems, and Giovanni Battista Piranesi's drawings. His expertise includes urban speleology (certified by Roma Sotterranea) and archaeological reconstructions, notably for the Villa Magna Project. He also explores scenography through cross-disciplinary design studios.
Awards
- Fulbright Fellowship (2005) for documenting the Emissarium of Lake Albano
Professional Practice
Through his firm Ad Hoc/Architecture, he designs award-winning residential and commercial projects. He previously contributed to the National World War II Memorial in Washington, DC.
