About
Dr. Nick Davey leads the Neurophysiology Lab within the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London, focusing on understanding how the central nervous system (CNS) controls voluntary movements in health and disease. His research explores neural reorganization (plasticity) following conditions like spinal cord injury, neurological disease, or chronic pain, aiming to develop rehabilitation strategies and assess treatment efficacy.
- Research areas include corticomotor mapping, postural control dysfunction, and effects of pain/ischaemia on sensorimotor function
Current projects involve using brain stimulation and near-infrared spectroscopy for spinal cord injury detection, studying visual dependence in hypermobility, and investigating cross-muscle task optimization for neural control.
Funding bodies supporting the lab include The Dunhill Medical Trust, The INSPIRE Foundation, and The Pain Relief Foundation.
