Dr. Nichole Sanders is a Professor of History at the University of Lynchburg since 2003. She holds a PhD in Latin American history from the University of California, Irvine, an MA in history from Texas State University San Marcos, and a BA in History with a Spanish minor from the University of Texas, Austin.
Her research focuses on gender and sexuality in Mexico and Latin America, modern Mexican history, economic development, and political legitimacy in the region. She teaches courses including 'History of Disease and Medicine,' 'Latin American Survey,' and 'Love and Sex in Latin American History.'
Dr. Sanders is affiliated with multiple academic units at the university, including the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences. Her work integrates feminist methodologies with historical analysis of social and political structures in Latin America.
