Nichole Barta

Nichole Barta is an Associate Professor in Kinesiology and Sport Management at Gonzaga University's School of Education. She currently serves as the Acting Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs, a role appointed in June 2025, and has been instrumental in faculty development, teacher certification, and institutional equity initiatives.

Her research focuses on curriculum development for fitness education, motor learning, and inclusive instructional methods in physical education. She has contributed to publications like Designing and Teaching Fitness Education Courses and book chapters on teaching effectiveness.

In 2022, Barta became Director of the Center for Teaching and Advising, leading efforts to enhance faculty teaching practices. She also co-led an NSF ADVANCE Partnership project to promote equitable faculty advancement.

Barta holds certifications including NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (2019) and ACSM Certified Personal Trainer (2008), reflecting her expertise in exercise science and health education.
