Nicholas Schroeder

Dr. Nicholas Schroeder serves as Assistant Professor of Music and Program Director of Jazz at Friends University. An accomplished trumpeter, he holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Jazz Performance from the University of Illinois and performs internationally with notable ensembles.

Professional Experience: Dr. Schroeder has performed with The Temptations, The Four Tops, and Guy Lombardo Orchestra. He directs jazz programs at multiple institutions, including Washburn University's Summer Jazz Combo Camp.

Pedagogical Approach: His teaching emphasizes improvisation, ensemble performance, and the historical context of jazz. He coordinates curriculum development for jazz studies and mentors emerging performers.
