Nicholas Reo

Nicholas Reo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Indigenous Studies at Simon Fraser University (SFU). He holds a Canada Excellence Research Chair (2023-2031) focused on Coastal Regeneration and Relationalities. His work integrates Indigenous methodologies to explore knowledge practices, land/sea tenure systems, and language revitalization.

Reo is an enrolled member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians (Anishinaabe). His research emphasizes creating spaces for global Indigenous knowledge exchange and strengthening kinship networks. He currently does not teach courses at SFU.
