His research interests lie at the intersection of literature, culture, and modernity, with a strong focus on Victorian and twentieth-century popular literature, urban narratives, melodrama, and visual culture. He explores how literature reflects and shapes cultural anxieties, particularly around urbanization, technological change, and national identity. His work often bridges disciplines, engaging with art history, film, theatre, and cultural theory.
Daly’s recent publications reflect a sustained engagement with sensation culture, urban spectacle, and transatlantic literary forms.
