Nicholas Butowski

Dr. Nicholas Butowski is a leading researcher and clinician specializing in neuro-oncology at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). As a member of the Brain Tumor Research Center, he focuses on developing novel therapeutic strategies for brain tumors, particularly glioblastoma, through clinical trials and molecular profiling. His research integrates preclinical models, neuro-imaging innovations, and quality-of-life interventions for brain tumor patients. He is the Principal Investigator for NIH-funded studies, including advancing immunotherapy in glioblastoma (U19CA264338) and phase I trials of liposomal-irinotecan (R21CA186140).
