Nic Badullovich is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Impact at The University of Western Australia. His work focuses on evaluating the social impact of programs and initiatives through stakeholder engagement, research planning, data collection and analysis, and communicating findings for social impact.
Dr. Badullovich received his PhD in climate change communication from the Australian National University in 2023. His thesis explored the concept of framing and its application in opening productive discussions on climate change, particularly in complex or polarized contexts. Prior to that, he earned a Master of Science Communication (2018) and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Earth Science (2016), both from the Australian National University.
Following his PhD, he completed a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Climate Change Communication at George Mason University. He is currently also an Affiliate Researcher at George Mason University, with this position starting December 25, 2024. His research spans climate change communication, framing techniques, decision making processes, and effective communication strategies, with a particular focus on Australian contexts.
Dr. Badullovich's work contributes to several UN Sustainable Development Goals focused on environmental protection and sustainability. His recent publications examine topics such as climate museum experiences, policy advocacy related to climate change, knowledge brokering between science and policy, and predictors of support for climate activism.
He is actively involved in the "Evaluation Plan for Wadandi Track Project" with the Department of Transport in Western Australia, where he serves as Investigator 05. This project runs from June 12, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
