Dr. Nia Jones is a Lecturer in the School of History, Law and Social Sciences at Bangor University. She specializes in medieval British history with a focus on Welsh chronicle writing and the role of institutions like Cistercian monasteries. Her research explores how history was conceptualized and utilized to serve ethnic and political agendas in medieval Wales.

Her current research centers on the Brut y Tywysogion, analyzing relationships between monastic institutions and Welsh rulers.
