Nevena Petrovic

Nevena Petrovic is a Researcher at the Institute of Biology and Ecology within the Faculty of Science and Mathematics at the University of Kragujevac. She graduated in 2017 and completed her Master's degree in 2018, and is currently working toward her doctoral dissertation.

Her research focuses on the biological diversity of fungi, with special emphasis on macromycetes. She investigates the biological activity of fungi and lichens and their secondary metabolites to prove medicinal properties and applications in medicine and various industrial branches. Her doctoral dissertation explores the biomedical potential of selected macromycete species and their role in bioremediation.

Her scientific work falls within the broader disciplines of biology, ecology, and biotechnology, with specific applications in environmental science and pharmacology. Her research connects fungal studies with practical applications in environmental remediation and medical science.

As a junior researcher working toward her doctorate under the mentorship of Dr. Marijana Kosanić, she contributes to the Institute's work in fungal biodiversity and applications. She maintains an active research position while completing her doctoral studies.
