Neli Heidari

Dr. Neli Heidari is Scientific Associate in Didactics of Geography at University of Hamburg. Her research examines language integration in geography education, critical map literacy, and digital learning methodologies. She coordinates EU projects on inclusive geography education and develops virtual fieldwork resources.

Current projects include V-GeoSciEd (diversity in geoscience education) and Science Media Literacy interventions. Research focuses on multilingual teaching approaches, cartographic language acquisition, and critical analysis of spatial representations.

Teaching encompasses geography didactics, virtual excursion methodologies, and international digital collaborations for teacher education. Publications analyze metacognitive processes in map-based learning and systematic reviews of language in geography education.
