Neil Varon is a Professor of Conducting & Ensembles and Music Director of the Eastman Philharmonia, Eastman School Symphony, and Chamber Orchestras at the University of Rochester's Eastman School of Music. He holds full professorship with tenure since 2005 and has led summer orchestral conducting masterclasses with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Born in New York in 1950, Varon studied at the Juilliard School, with a career spanning over 40 years across Europe, Asia, and North America.
- Leadership roles: General Music Director of Gelsenkirchen (Germany, 1991–1996), Music Director of Südwestfälische Philharmonic (1987–1991).
