Neil Patel

Neil Patel is a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Consultant Oral Surgeon at the University of Manchester's Division of Dentistry. He qualified in Dentistry in 2007 and completed specialist training in Oral Surgery at Manchester Dental Hospital, earning a Master’s in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship.

• Lead for Internationalisation in the Division of Dentistry
• Co-creator of two Joint Degree programs with Egyptian institutions
• Active clinical practice in implant dentistry and oral surgery

His research focuses on oral and maxillofacial surgery, dental implantology, evidence-based practice, and dental education. Recent work examines large language models in dental assessments, papillary reconstruction techniques, and drug-related clinical implications. He contributes to global dental education through strategic partnerships.

He supervises postgraduate training and holds qualifications including BDS(Hons), MSc, MJDF RCSEng, MOralSurg, PGCert, MDTFEd, MAcadMEd, and PhD (2025 thesis on evidence-based practice in undergraduate dental education).
