Neil Partington is Associate Professor of Law at the University of Sussex's School of Law, Politics and Sociology. He joined Sussex in 2017 after research positions at Queen’s University Belfast. His work focuses on sports negligence law, tort reform, and the intersection of legal principles with coaching practice.
Research interests center on duty of care in sports contexts, particularly negligence liability of coaches. His monograph 'Coaching, Sport and the Law' (2021) analyzes legal protections for sports professionals. Current projects include racism in English football and psychiatric harm in sports contexts.
