Neil Larman

Neil Larman serves as Paramedic Professional Lead & Course Lead at the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare, University of West London (UWL), on part-time secondment from the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust (LAS). Concurrently, he works as an Advanced Paramedic in Urgent Care and Incident Response Officer at LAS, maintaining operational clinical duties.

His educational background includes a first degree from University College London (UCL), followed by a nursing career before joining LAS. Professional progression saw him rise from Paramedic to Station Officer managing 160 staff through roles including Clinical Team Manager and Duty Officer.

Neil specializes in advancing paramedic practice, pioneering Emergency Care Practitioner and Advanced Paramedic Practitioner in Urgent Care roles. His clinical work spans 999 emergency response, GP surgeries, Urgent Care Centres, and Control & Command centres, emphasizing innovation in pre-hospital care systems.

As Course Lead for the MSc Paramedic Science (Pre Registration) program, he oversees curriculum development and student supervision. Previously, he coordinated nationwide clinical placements as LAS tactical lead and Higher Education Visitor for the College of Paramedics.

Neil remains operationally active as an LAS Operational Commander for major events across London while contributing to UWL's academic mission through the Practice Education Teaching Team.
