Neil Dewar is an External Member affiliated with the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Cambridge. He holds a BPhil (2013) and DPhil (2016) in Philosophy from the University of Oxford, supervised by David Wallace and Oliver Pooley, and spent three semesters as a visiting student at Princeton working with Hans Halvorson and Shamik Dasgupta.

His research focuses on the intersection of philosophy of physics, philosophy of science, metaphysics, and logic. He explores representation and ontology in physical theories, applying insights from philosophy of logic and language to analyze symmetries, equivalence in physics, and foundations of spacetime theories. Additional interests span the metaphysics of science and the historical development of physics, mathematics, and logic from the 19th to early 20th centuries.
