Neha Goel

Dr. Neha Goel is a physician-scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she serves as Chief of Disparities in the Department of Surgery and holds the Jeanne A. Petrek Junior Faculty Chair. She specializes in breast cancer surgery, including oncoplastic and nipple-sparing procedures, while leading research on neighborhood-level social determinants of health and their biological impact on cancer outcomes.

• Education: BS from Northwestern University, MD from University of Illinois, and MPH from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health

Her research, funded by the National Institutes of Health, investigates how socioeconomic environments ('ZIP code') interact with genomic factors ('Genomic code') to influence breast cancer biology. This work addresses disparities in triple-negative breast cancer incidence and outcomes among underserved populations.

Dr. Goel’s publications highlight connections between neighborhood disadvantage, tumor aggressiveness, and survival rates. Her clinical practice at Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center and Josie Robertson Surgery Center emphasizes patient-centered care, as reflected in her high patient satisfaction scores and recognition in the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
