Neal Terrell

Neal Terrell is a Part-time Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the College of Engineering, California State University, Long Beach. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a master’s degree in Computer Science from CSULB, with a thesis focused on optimizing routes to visit all Major League Baseball stadiums.

His academic interests include software engineering, programming languages (teaching over 10 languages), and computer science education. He prioritizes curriculum modernization aligned with industry standards and student success.

Outside academia, Terrell is passionate about fruit tree cultivation, baseball, video games, and national parks—interests occasionally reflected in his teaching examples and assignments.
