Neal Harman

Dr Neal Harman is an Associate Professor in Computer Science at Swansea University and currently serves as Deputy Head of College (Student Experience) for the College of Science. He holds strategic responsibility for undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs across multiple disciplines including Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics. His research focuses on formal methods in programming, concurrent systems, and processor architecture modeling.

He has led major initiatives such as the £13.4M EU-funded Software Alliance Wales (SAW) project (2009-2015). His teaching responsibilities include modules like Programming 1 (Java fundamentals), Web Service Development, and Web Services architecture. He has served as an External Examiner at Aberystwyth University since 2014.

Key research contributions include algebraic models for concurrent systems and processor verification, published in journals like The Journal of Logic and Algebraic Programming and conference proceedings on coalgebra applications.
