Neal Abrams

Dr. Neal Abrams is Associate Professor and Associate Chair of Chemistry at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Pennsylvania State University and B.S. from Ithaca College. His academic service includes Interim Director of ESF Open Academy (2022-2024).

Research focuses on:

• Advanced materials for energy applications including solar cells and fuel cells
• Low-temperature synthesis of solid-state oxide materials
• Innovative chemistry education techniques

Teaching recognitions include the 2022 Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award and 2020 SUNY Chancellor's Faculty Service Award. His educational outreach earned the 2010 TACNY Technology Award.
