Dr. Natasha Riard is a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology and Clinic Manager at the Singapore campus of James Cook University since July 2021. She holds a Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) from James Cook University (2010-2013), a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology from Monash University (2008-2009), and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology & Communications) from Monash University (2005-2007).
With over 10 years of clinical experience, she previously worked as a Senior Psychologist at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and a consultant for KidSTART. Her expertise spans diagnosis and intervention for childhood disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and anxiety disorders. She emphasizes early intervention, parent education, and attachment-focused approaches.
Natasha’s research focuses on childhood anxiety disorders (e.g., Selective Mutism), parent-based interventions, and neurodevelopmental conditions. She led a project with Yale Child Study Center evaluating parent programs for preschool anxiety and co-authored a Selective Mutism Treatment Manual. She also contributed to studies on Autism Spectrum Disorder, including sleep patterns and screen time effects.
Her current roles include managing JCU’s Psychology Clinic, supervising clinical interns, and overseeing clinical training. She collaborates with institutions like Temasek Foundation on youth mental health initiatives.
