Dr. Natasha Kidd is Associate Vice Provost: Creative Engagement and a Professor in Art Practice and Pedagogy at Bath Spa University. She leads the Centre for Cultural and Creative Industries' practice research initiatives and co-founded the Material:Pedagogy:Futures network. Her work focuses on creative pedagogy, artist learning strategies, and participatory art. She has spearheaded major collaborations like the £6.8M Bristol & Bath Creative R&D Programme and the £3.1M Place Partnership talent diversification project.
Education: D-Phil (2018, University of Oxford), M.F.A. & B.A. (Slade School of Fine Art, UCL). Professional training includes Bath Spa University’s academic leadership programs (2019–22). She holds a PG Cert in Learning & Teaching (Distinction) and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2008).
Research interests emphasize demystifying creative processes through participatory practices, automated systems, and institutional critique. Her work has been exhibited globally at venues like Tate Modern, Camden Arts Centre, and The Lowry. Key projects include Inventory of Behaviours, analyzing artist habits, and large-scale installations like Inflate and Overfill.
Recent articles explore rethinking productivity in art education (2024) and artist behaviors’ sociocultural implications. Her work bridges art practice, pedagogy, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
