Natalya R. Brown

Natalya R. Brown is an Associate Professor at Nipissing University with joint appointments in the School of Business and Department of Political Science, Philosophy and Economics. She holds degrees in Economics from the University of West Indies-Mona, University of Houston, and University of Texas at Austin.

Her research spans immigrant integration in rural communities, financial literacy in education, sustainable tourism, and philanthropic practices. Brown leads the iLEAD Jamaica Expedition program and chairs the Standing Committee on Northern, Rural and Remote Communities at Pathways to Prosperity.

Publications reflect interdisciplinary approaches to community development, including studies on diasporic philanthropy, sports-based social inclusion, and eco-tourism certification in Jamaica.

Brown volunteers with the North Bay Multicultural Centre and performs in the community concert band J.O.Y.
