Dr Natalie Raven is a Lecturer at Plymouth Marjon University's School of Education, where she co-convenes SCION: The Sustainability, Creativity, & Innovation Research Group. With over 15 years of professional performance experience across Europe and North America, her research focuses on feminist performance, queer performance, and site-specific work.
Research interests include: performer training; materiality in performance; scenographic approaches; feminist performance (1960-present); body-based practices; queer performance; semiotic and phenomenological approaches; representations of identity; and site-specific performance in outdoor environments.
Her publications explore themes of embodiment, materiality, and identity in performance, with significant contributions to understanding body-based practices through artistic research and documentation.
As Co-Convener of SCION and Principal Investigator for the MarjonXRame Summer School project, she develops innovative approaches to actor training in nature.
