Natalie Johansen is an Assistant Professor of English at Southern Utah University (SUU), where she teaches courses such as English 1010: Introduction to Academic Writing, English 2010: Writing about Animals, English 2020: Introduction to Creative Writing, and English 3040: Intermediate Creative Nonfiction. She has also designed classes on writing about food, pop culture, nature, the occult, and sports/health/identity through SUU's Jumpstart program. Previously, she taught freshman composition and creative writing at Brigham Young University and Dixie State University.
Johansen holds a Creative Writing MFA from Brigham Young University. Her professional interests focus on creative nonfiction, particularly the personal essay, and bridging academic and creative writing methodologies.
