Nassif Rayess

Nassif Rayess is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at University of Detroit Mercy's College of Engineering & Science. He serves as Assistant Dean of Research and Outreach, teaching courses in Statics, Dynamics, Senior Design, and Product Entrepreneurship. Dr. Rayess holds BS and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University.

His research focuses on mechanical engineering fundamentals including Noise, Vibration and Acoustics (NVH), Solid Mechanics, Numerical Methods, and experimental mechanics. Current investigations explore innovative measurement techniques and acoustic material properties.

Recent publications demonstrate strong emphasis on engineering pedagogy, covering curriculum development for teamwork skills, technical writing integration, and entrepreneurship training. Additional research directions include assistive technology design and biomechanical measurement systems.
