Naresh Pandit

Naresh Pandit is a Professor of International Business at Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia (UEA), where he has been since 2006. He holds additional roles including Institutional Lead for the Universities Policy Engagement Network (UPEN) and membership in the Marketing, Strategy & Entrepreneurship, and ClimateUEA groups. Prior to UEA, he worked at Manchester Business School, where he earned his PhD in 1995 and held positions as Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Economics.

Education: Doctor of Philosophy (1995), Master of Science (1987), and Bachelor of Arts (1986) from the University of Manchester.

Research Interests: Focuses on business clustering and economic performance, corporate insolvency/turnaround, and financial services. His work has been funded by grants from the British Academy, European Union, World Bank, and others. Key projects include studies on multinational enterprises (MNEs), industrial clusters in media/financial sectors, and the Norwich Financial Cluster.

Awards & Recognition: Includes keynote speaking engagements (e.g., figNorwich 2024), awards for teaching excellence (e.g., 2012 MBA Teaching Award), and prestigious paper prizes. He has also served as a consultant for the World Bank and UK government initiatives, including a £200k+ project on City of London’s value to EU corporations.

Grants & Funding: Secured over £200k in grants, including a British Academy project on technology spillovers and MNE location strategies (2015–2016), and a £70k grant comparing multinationality in UK clusters (2018–2020).

Teaching & Leadership: Teaches economics, international business, and research methods at postgraduate levels. Served as Head of the Strategy & Entrepreneurship Group (2018–2022) and leads a REF Impact Case on business clusters.

Public Engagement: Media contributions include articles on SME survival during economic crises and policy recommendations for net-zero transitions. His research informs policymakers and industry leaders globally.
