Dr. Narasimha Rao is Professor of Energy Systems at Yale School of the Environment and Senior Research Scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis. His research examines relationships between energy systems, human development, and climate change, with a focus on household-level impacts of energy transition policies globally. His 'Decent Living Energy' project quantifies material requirements for eradicating multidimensional poverty.
Methodologically, he employs household energy modeling, econometrics, input-output analysis, and policy evaluation. His work has been supported by the European Research Council, NSF, and EPA.
