Naomi Zouwer

Dr. Naomi Zouwer is Lecturer in Teacher Education at the University of Canberra's Faculty of Education. With 20 years' experience in arts education, she specializes in creative processes that enhance engagement and learning across educational and cultural institutions.

Research explores art gallery pedagogy for young audiences, cross-disciplinary teaching methods, and community-based art projects. Recent collaborations with the National Gallery of Australia examine how gallery spaces can better engage emerging audiences.

Publications emphasize practical applications of arts-based learning, including strategies for discussing challenging artwork with children and designing home art studios. Current projects investigate online arts education during COVID-19 disruptions.

As a visual artist and International Artist Pedagogy Group member, Dr. Zouwer integrates studio practice with educational research.
