Naomi Rintoul-Hynes

Naomi Rintoul-Hynes serves as a Senior Lecturer in Soil Science and Environmental Management and Research Lead for Biological Sciences at Canterbury Christ Church University within the School of Sciences, Psychology, Arts and Humanities, Computing, Engineering and Sports.

Her research spans environmental pollution, agricultural systems, and urban green spaces, with current focus on the environmental consequences of warfare in Ukraine's agricultural lands and the health, wellbeing, and biodiversity benefits of green infrastructure. She champions soil science as a critical biodiverse resource requiring urgent conservation.

Dr. Rintoul-Hynes actively integrates students from Foundation year through PhD level into her research initiatives, emphasizing experiential learning in ecology, pollution science, and sustainable agriculture.
