Nanda Kumar

Nanda Kumar is a Professor and Chair of the Paul H. Chook Department of Information Systems and Statistics at Zicklin School of Business, City University of New York. His expertise spans AI/ML, technology policy, privacy, and organizational information systems. He holds a PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of British Columbia, an MBA-equivalent from Narsee Monjee Institute, and a BE in Electronics Engineering from Anna University.

His research explores human-technology interaction across domains including healthcare informatics, e-governance, privacy psychology, and social computing. Recent publications demonstrate a focus on decision support systems in high-stakes environments, privacy mechanisms in social networks, and organizational implications of emerging technologies.

Award recognition includes the 2022 Best Paper Award, multiple research excellence honors from AIS, and teaching awards. Significant grants secured include $1.5M from NYC Small Business Services (2023) and $500k from NEU Center for Inclusive Computing (2024).
